We accept applications up to a year ahead for students who have completed all the admissions requirements.

How to Apply



Before you do anything, we need to talk. Admission is based on your commitment and dedication to your field of interest as determined by an admissions interview. This selection process allows us to provide a unique creative learning environment filled with dedicated students. If you’re selected our devoted support team will walk you through the financial aid process and help you get all your admissions paperwork completed. Fill out the contact form, give us a call or send an email to schedule a time to speak with us in depth about our school so we can determine together if our portfolio school is the best fit for you given your goals and interests. We can offer you all the information you need on our programs, financial aid options, housing, career placement services, graduate careers and Atlanta city life. Interviews can be conducted in person or by phone if you’re not local. *International Student Procedures will differ.

If you and your Admissions Representative agree that The Circus is where you belong, we’ll help you get started right away. Once you’ve been recommended to the appropriate program you will be directed to pay your application fee & emailed a link to the application/enrollment portal. A non-refundable $100 application fee is due prior the start of your application. Payment for the application can be taken with Myla Wilson at 404.477.6711 or through the link below.

Essay & Portfolio

All departments require a 200 word minimum essay addressing a question specific to the program you’re seeking admission into. All departments require a portfolio of 10-15 pieces that best represent your creativity. Your samples can include fine art, creative writing, music you’ve made, photography, or any other kind of creative work. We would also like to see samples of work relevant to the program to which you are applying. What are we looking for? Passion. Inventive, original ideas and a clear awareness of what this school is: it’s a career move and a way to get a job with a finished portfolio. It is not an art school or a place to find yourself. Your essay will be on this topic:
Art Direction: In your own words, what does Art Direction mean to you, and what excites you most about this path at The Creative Circus?
Copywriting: Describe a favorite. Tell us about it, and tell us why it’s your favorite.
Image: What inspires you and how have you inspired someone?
Design: When have you tried hard at something and failed? How did you overcome it, and what did you learn from it?
Creative Technology: Given unlimited resources, what would you like to build, and how would it affect the world?

Financial Aid

Our Financial Services Director will contact you with specific deadlines for your Financial Aid paperwork. There are three steps necessary for completing the financial aid process outline in the instructions found here.

An official signed, sealed copy of your transcripts from the last school you attended is required. You may NOT attend classes here until we have this in your file.  Please contact your most recent institution immediately upon submitting your application to The Creative Circus and have them send your transcript directly to us at: Attention Registrar 812 Lambert Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30324.



Orientation is held the week before the start of each quarter. This is when you get your schedule, student ID and handbook, and listen to the faculty explain what your new career may look like. Orientation is required for all new students. Plus, it’s fun. For specific dates, please consult the calendar of dates.  You can also brush up on your reading and start familiarizing yourself with The Creative Circus catalog. Be sure to join our Facebook Student Ambassadors group so you can ask alumni & current students various questions. Each quarter has a Facebook Group just for those that are starting at the same time as you. This is a great way to meet classmates before you begin & to help you find a roommate if needed. Please ask Admissions to direct you to the correct group. Various students, staff & alumni have also blogged about their experiences in school & in their career as well.
